Whimsical Wisteria

Wisteria is most well known for the stunning, fragrant purple flowers and woody vines they produce. Many people do not have the patience for growing this plant as it could take years for them to actually produce any flowers. However, they are worth the wait.
Also please remember, when growing wisteria is that every part of the plant is poisonous so you must be careful to not allow pets or children to put any part of this plant in their mouth. You should choose a wisteria’s location carefully as the vines are very hardy and can climb up to twenty five feet.
Wisteria should be planted where they will get six to eight hours of sunlight every day and have well drained soil. You may need to stake the plants as they grow to keep them standing as they gain strength to stand on their own.
You may want to prune it often once it gets a good start as it can completely take over in a short period of time. If you want to allow the vines climb give them something strong to climb as they will become very heavy over time.
