Growing organic vegetables is easier than you think. Here are some plant and water type vegetables you will have no problem harvesting in your own garden. What makes them easy to grow?

A variety of reasons: aptitude to different climates and attractiveness to pests to name a couple.

And now, without further ado, GardenMandy.com presents:

The Top 10 easiest vegetables to grow organically:

#1 Radishes
They are so easy to grow and very few pests bother them. You may get a couple green worms, but for the most part the worms would rather eat broccoli and cauliflower. Try a fresh picked radish with a little salt. Mmmmm…wow!

#2 Zucchini/ Squash
Both zucchini and squash do well in most climates and they need very little special attention. Most people who plant zucchini end up with way more than they can even eat. This stuff grows like a weed!

#3 Carrots
Carrots tend to be pest free and need little attention. Fresh, organic, Beta-Keratin does it get any better? Really?

#4 Lettuce / Baby Greens
A lot of people shy away from lettuce because they think it is hard to grow but in reality you just have to plant the seeds, water and watch how fast it grows. Baby greens are my favorite, plant them in a pot, and cut your salad fresh with a pair of scissors every night!

#5 Peas
this includes both sweet peas and sugar peas. Other than fruit flies, these guys attract very few pests. If you do get some fruit flies try neem oil for organic pest control.

#6 Strawberries
So easy! So delicious! Plant then in the spring and enjoy them all summer. But, before you plant these sweeties don’t forget about the secret to succulent strawberries.

#7 Onions
That’s right onions need little care. Just give them plenty of water.

# 8 Broccoli
Yes you can get some pretty nasty bugs on you leaves, but for the most part broccoli doesn’t need a whole lot of special care. Watch out for the green worms!

#9 Herbs
There are a ton of herbs including rosemary, thyme, parsley and oregano that need very little attention. Herbs are also a great way to dress up an ugly garden.

#10 Tomatoes
Okay I know what your thinking, I’ve lost my mind. Rest assure I have not. Tomatoes can be a headache and they do need a little more attention then the other things on the list. However, for the little bit attention that tomatoes do need, you get an incredible reward in the large amount of fruit that they produce. Here’s a few tricks for growing tomatoes.

If you are a little apprehensive about planting an organic garden, start slow with any of the veggies I’ve mentioned. You’ll be a green thumb in no time.

With plenty of water and a lot of sunshine you will gain both confidence and have a beautiful organic garden, complete with delicious vegetables and bragging rights!
