The Magic Of Vinegar For Weed Control And More…
I’ll bet you didn’t know that vinegar has been used for centuries to treat everything from rust on metal to burns on skin.
This potent substance works great on everything:
- Windows; with newspaper for streak free finish (thanks Lisa for the tip!)
- Coffee makers(with some ice and lemon.)
- Copper pots
- Fabric softener
- Rinse aid in dishwashers for no spots!
- Mixed with baking soda to unclog drains.
My favorite use for this stinky liquid is:
To organically control weeds in the garden.
That’s right! The next time you even think of reaching for that horrible commercial weed control, reach for your vinegar instead.
But wait there’s more!
Not only is vinegar great as a cleaning product and in the garden, but it is also great alternative to chemical medicines. It has been known to treat everything from dandruff to yeast infections, weight loss to sun burn relief. Vinegar is also used in some countries to prevent cancer.
So the next time you want to try an alternative to modern medicine look in your pantry. The answer may be staring you in the face.
Here’s a list of other great green replacements for everyday chemicals.

The vinegar you get from the grocery is only 5%. I was told you can get a 10% or 20% vinegar but I can’t find it anywhere. I was actually told home depot but they said they never carryied a vinegar product ever. I can’t remember who told me but they lived in a different state and home depot sells according to the area it is in so his home depot may have carried it. The 5% vinegar is to weak here with the heat and humidity my weeds laugh at me when I use it.

Hi Letsplant,
It can be a bit difficult to find 10% or 20% vinegar.
You can try online at a store like http://www.planetnatural.com
I know some organic nurseries carry it as an alternative to commercial herbicides. You might try looking online as well. I found a few stores that carry by the gallon.
Good luck and thanks for participating. Hope to see you here again soon.

Can you give me a few names of organic nurseries so that I may look for them in my area?
