Small Area Compost Pile
So you would like to make your own compost but you just don’t have enough room.
Good news! You don’t need lots of room to make your own compost. In fact all you really need is a bucket and a sunny spot.
Step 1: Get a bucket. Any bucket will do
Step 2: Pop some holes in the bottom of the bucket
Step 3: Put a layer of kitchen compost material (eggshells, apple cores, banana peel, veggie steam, stuff like that. But don’t use meat!) on the bottom of the bucket, followed by a layer or sawdust and your favorite organic soil. Continue with this layer pattern ending with the top layer being soil.
Step 4: Seal the top and stick it in a warm place.
Step 5: Wait a month or two and viola! Homemade compost
It doesn’t take an ton of space to make good organic compost. So what are you waiting for? Once its ready you can try compost tea to spray your garden.
