Composting is something that many people have become more concerned with over the last 10 years as the average person is now doing more to reduce their Carbon Footprint on the Earth than thirty or forty years ago. One of the best ways that anyone can reduce their impact on the earth is to use Red Wiggler worms to compost the organic matter from their home.
1. Create a worm farm or composting bin for your organic material.
2. Purchase 2,000 worms. The total cost is around $20 to $30.
3. Put one pound of organic material into your composting bin for every 2,000 worms that you have in there. Remember that organic material consists of vegetable scraps, paper, dead flowers and anything that can be consumed by worms.
4. Place a lid on your composting bin after you’ve added new organic material and make sure that your compost bin stays moist because, red wigglers thrive in a moist environment and darkness.
If you love fishing, Red Wigglers also make excellent bait and are many times better to use than night crawlers. To learn more about this type of worm visit your local garden store or research online.
