Organic vs. Natural

I recently had a few people ask me if there is a difference between “Organic” and “Natural”. My response is YES, YES, YES!
We buy organic foods, we see the labels. But do we really know what they mean?
Organic labels mean that the food was produced within the guild lines set forth by the Department of Agriculture. This includes producing food free from chemicals such as pesticides and chemically altered fertilizer.
Natural labels mean that the food has not been synthetically altered. There are no guild lines for Natural food labels.
I am hoping in the near future there will be more regulations on Natural label, but until then, read the ingredients to make an informed decision.
So just because something is labeled “natural” that doesn’t mean that it is also organic.
