Organic T-Shirts: That’s the Spirit
It makes perfect sense that, in a nation that emphasizes freedom of speech, a piece of apparel as basic as the T-shirt would emerge not just as a fashion statement but also as a vessel for personal expression. There are thousands of T-shirts out there bearing all manner of slogans, some funny, some provocative, some just plain dumb… And behind it all has been the cogs and gears of assembly lines as fashion and speech kept rolling off the assembly lines.

Of course, much of the clothing industry has been exported to countries with lower labor costs, so it was hard to jibe the spirit of the smart-aleck T-shirt slogan with the fact that they were utterly mass-produced. Today, a burgeoning market has found itself where organic T-shirts are concerned. With companies emphasizing better ethics and higher wages, and using a home-grown work force, they’re on the road to success in business… And keeping the spirit of the T-shirt alive at the same time.
