Pickles make a delicious summer snack that you can make yourself. You can get them already made at the store, but they taste a lot better homemade. When you plant them in your garden or buy them fresh at the farmers market your next step is giving them a good soak. Pickled cucumbers are a great way to start this tasty snack if you enjoy it. One of many cool things about making your own pickled cucumbers is getting to make the flavor what ever way you want. The flavors can be more sweet or you can make a pickle spice blend that you and your family will enjoy.
Ingredients for Different Flavors
When you make your own pickles you decide exactly what goes into your pickled cucumber, and exactly what does not. You have all the say in the ingredients that do and do not go into making your pickles so they are just as organic as you want them. Play with the flavors of your pickles if you want. Some of them can be sweet and some more on the salty side depending on what you like and or are in the mood for. Soak them in apple cider vinegar and brown sugar to get a tangy sweet taste. You can even have some fun playing around with different pickle recipes. Some people have tried making 4 different variations of ingredients in the cucumber pickle recipes. You’ll get a much different taste making these homemade rather than buying them at the store.
The difference is taste is very noticeable. Cucumber pickles you buy at the store will be slightly less flavorful than the cucumber pickles you make at home. That is partially because yours are fresh and you are not adding any chemicals for freshness. You won’t find the variety at the store either. You get exactly what the factory has chosen to make in bulk quantity. When you make your cucumber pickles homemade, you are the one taking the time to put together the ingredients they soak in exactly the way you want them to taste with the exact ingredients you want to use.
