Keep Your PH Levels Neutral, Organically!
Here in Las Vegas we have hard water with lots of lime in it. This is the reason that our soil tends to have a very high PH. In fact, I find myself struggling to keep it neutral all the time.
A great organic way to keep your PH neutral is used tea bags. You can either sprinkle the contents over the soil or if the bags are made of paper, you can bury them in the soil.
Take used tea bags and add them to your high PH soil. Over time they will decompose and slowly add acidity to your soil.
It is also a great excuse to make yourself a cup of tea.

How about coffee grounds? Every day, I generate several tablespoons of ground; I’d like to put at least some of that into the soil, if it wouldn’t hurt.

Hi Rewinn,
Absolutely coffee work well to lower your PH! Just be sure that your coffee is organic from the go.
Coffee grounds are also great to keep cats out of your garden. Some people swear that ants, snails and slugs will steer clear of it as well.
Good luck with your garden and I hope you will stop by often.
