Hey Dumb-Dumb, Is Your Water Bottle Making You Stupid?

It’s almost like playing 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon. So, what do scientists, African Green monkeys, Bisphenol (BPA), the human brain, and water bottles have in common? I know, I know, that’s only 5. And we’re not including Kevin Bacon, in this game. If you are a stickler for the rules, we can either include him in with the African Green monkeys or the human brain. Depending on how you stand on Kevin Bacon, take your pick.
Give up? Scientists did a study on the exposure of African Green monkeys to low levels of Bisphenol. They found that even low levels of exposure slowed down and impaired brain synapses. Particularly those areas of the brain used for learning. What is significant about the study is that even low levels of BPA could also affect human brain function. We’re not talking about the Neanderthals on a football team (although this could explain a few things, if it were open to study).
The BPA levels are especially risky to infants and the elderly. So, the next time you decide to reach for your water bottle and fill it to get that nice cool refreshing drink of cold water, ask yourself honestly what is really inside?

How about a stainless steel filtering water bottle with no BPA and that really does remove chlorine, 75% of fluoride and over 90% of most contaminants? See http://www.friendsofwater.com for lots of information about water issues, and products to save water and filter water. PS. Do a little homework about fluoride and reach your own conclusions.
