Growing Tomatoes Made Easy!
Scroll down for a picture of my perfect little Roma tomato blossom!
Many people shy away from growing tomatoes because they think they are too hard to care for and need too much attention. The truth is tomatoes are very, very easy to grow in any climate.
I have been told that I would not be able to grow them on the beach yet I have a successful crop with my first attempt. And I was told recently that tomatoes would not grow in the desert yet I have 2 different varieties and welcomed little green tomatoes last week.
Tomatoes are super easy to grow if you remember a few things.
- Tomatoes like it warm so plant them in a spot that get lots of sun and plenty of warmth. A great place is right up against the house or block wall where the heat will radiate.
- Give them lots of water. These are thirsty babies so make sure they get enough to drink.
- Make sure you have rich, nutritious soil.
- Fertilize often with organic compost tea.
- Take action at the first sign of fungus or disease. Don’t let it get out of control.
If you are patient with your tomato plants, they will reward you with delicious fruit all season long.

Congratulations Mason! Before you know it you will be enjoying tomatoes in everything. Don’t forget to fertilize with some compost tea to get really big, plump tomatoes. I can’t wait to see the pictures.
