Are your tomatoes splitting?  Here’s the reason:

If you are having a problem with your tomatoes splitting, chances are you are watering them a little too much. This problem usually arises when you may have forgot to water  or under watered them and then try to over compensate by watering too much.

My mother use to call it “overly loving” your plants. Try to be consistent with your watering techniques and you shouldn’t run into this problem.
