African daisies are popular and simple plants that are easy to grow. They bloom in summer and come in white, different shades of pink, and blue. They all have a yellow center and some kinds have a ring of contrasting color right around it.
In warm climates you can bUy your daisies any time from spring through late summer, or even into the fall. They can come in everything from 4-inch to one-gallon containers at local nurseries. The foliage and the buds should be showing signs of new growth to indicate that the daisy is healthy.
When you take your daisies home, you can plant them in well-drained soil. They like full sunlight, so don’t be afraid to put them out in the middle of the yard.
You’ll want to mulch and water them well when you first put them in the ground, planting them between nine and twelve inches apart. Make sure you don’t plant them deeper than they were in the container. Much like some of their close counterparts, daisies should have their old blooms cut off after flowering (called deadheading) and should be watered well about once each week in dry conditions.
If it’s been raining, you can water them less often and they’ll still bloom well. Take care of your daisies, and you will be able to admire and enjoy them for a long time to come.

And the great thing about daisies is that they look good next to just about anything. Especially Blackeyed Susan’s.
