If you do choose to take a vitamin supplement there are a few things you should know.

First all vitamins are not created equal. Cheap vitamins are just that, cheap, so if you are choosing the vitamin that you take based on the price, save your money and don’t buy them at all. Many cheap vitamins contain fillers, artificial colors, preservatives and other additives which may cause allergic reactions and will not be easily absorbed by your body anyways.

Most people should not even need vitamin supplements if they eat a diet that is balanced and rich in raw foods. So instead of purchasing cheap vitamins, use your money to load up in the produce section.

If you do need some type of vitamins supplement, your body will absorb and utilize vitamins made from natural, unprocessed foods much better than the synthetic formula.

When you purchase your vitamins, ALWAYS ALWAYS, ALWAYS, read the label first. If the vitamin content is measured in milligrams, it means that they are not a natural supplement. Whole food vitamins will not show a vitamin content but simply a list of the fruits, vegetables, greens, seeds, sprouts, probiotics (which is good bacteria) and plant based minerals on the label.
