Anyone who is concerned about taking care of the planet knows that there is an awful lot of garbage being produced.
There is waste produced by humans everywhere, and the landfills are getting more and more full every year with stuff that doesn’t biodegrade. If you want to do your part, you can start by cutting down on how much waste you’re making, and you can do it quite easily.
Cut back on single-serving items, for example, you’ll have less packaging to throw away. The same is true with take-out food. It makes a lot of waste that can be avoided.
Unnecessary packaging is a lot of what all this waste is. Natural waste like plant and animal matter will break down and be absorbed back into the eart, but plastic doesn’t, and most packages are made from plastic.
The good news is that more and more plastics are becoming biodegradable and more companies are making their packaging with recycled and recyclable materials. When you shop you can look for these kinds of packages in order to help cut down on how much waste you send to the landfill. For the times that you can’t buy recyclable-packed materials, you can buy in bulk where there is less packaging, and you can buy in concentrated forms so that you don’t have to worry about throwing out a lot of packing and wrappers.
It’s good for you and good for the planet.

Great tips! Also, most biodegradable packaging materials can be used in the garden. I use unprinted cardboard underneath straw mulch to keep the weeds out of garden paths, and it work great.
Anyway, love the site! Keep up the great work, Mandy!
