Alternatives To Commercial Bubble Bath

More than likely, your grandmother made herbal remedies and found uses for things that you probably don’t think much about anymore. If you want to help the planet, though, there are great ways that you can get back to basics.

One of those is through making your own bath tonic. No matter what you have heard, you don’t really need expensive, store-bought items. These tonics will work just as well with out them and for a fraction of the price.

Putting thyme and raw oats into a cheesecloth and letting it float in the water is a great way to have a scented bath, and you can also use just oatmeal in a cheesecloth to soften the water or put vinegar in the water if your skin is dry or itchy. If you want to be invigorated, basil in a cheesecloth bag is a great choice.

You can also make mint or sugar cleansers, oatmeal scrubs, and cucumber skin tonics. They’re easy to make, they’re inexpensive, and they’re safe for you and the environment. It’s hard to get better than that, especially at the cost of most bath products today, coupled with all the chemicals that are usually found in them.

A few more tips for that at home spa experience: use egg whites as a mask, or use can use avocados and bananas. You can use pear as a cleanser, or lemon for your hair. The possibilities are virtually endless when it comes to making your own herbal bathroom products the quick and easy way.

Lovely! I’m also currently doing the no poo (shampoo). That uses baking soda and acv. Lovely combination for the hair. Thanks for all your wonderful posts. I get excited to see a new one come through my email.
