A Few Reasons To Eat More Vegetarian Meals

There is an overwhelming amount of evidence that suggests eating a vegetarian diet is the healthy way to go. Now you don’t have to completely stop eating meat. Really what matters is that you understand the more plant foods you eat, the healthier you will be.

By eating more vegetarian meals you can reduce your risk of getting cancer, heart disease, stroke and other diseases that can prove fatal.

A large portion of the population doesn’t know that there are many reasons to eat this way than just for your health.

First there is the animals well being to consider. Before these poor creatures are taken off to be slaughtered they are often raised in inhumane conditions. I am sure that many of you saw the recent tapes from the slaughter house in California a few months back.

Another concern is the use of antibiotics, hormones, and pesticides in animal feed that which you in turn ingest when you eat this meat.

Cows being fed other cow can cause mad cow disease in the nations meat supply. It is obvious that the FDA doesn’t police these issues as much as they should.

Ecoli and other resistant bacteria are often found when handling raw meat. While it is a great idea to take the necessary precautions when handling raw meat, an even better idea is not to handle it at all.

Other factors such as better overall nutrition, weight control and the environment are yet more reasons to replace just a few meals a week with vegetarian alternatives.
